Jujitsu is an ancient Japanese form of self defense. Jujitsu uses all fighting techniques including throwing, grappling, striking, and joint locks. Jujitsu uses principles of leverage against force, redirection of an opponents energy and harmony of motion. It is one of the oldest known martial arts and traditional teaching of jujitsu has continued from feudal times.
Students of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu develop personal skills of self defense by a
combination of physical training and mental focus. The study of jujitsu leads
to higher levels of self confidence and health through the practice of
confrontation in a controlled environment.. Professor H. S. Okazaki, the
founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, wrote "The primary objective of the practice of
Jujitsu is the perfection of character..." A student who obtains proficiency in
the techniques of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu will have the physical and emotional
strength to appropriately respond to any threat from a mild confrontation to a
life threatening situation.Danzan Ryu
